Nokia 8 Review | Yaantra
Nokia has made a comeback in the market after a long period of hibernation, and this time it’s a shift from Windows to Android phones. Nokia 5, Nokia 6, Nokia 7 and Nokia 8 are some of the launches that have managed to impress the users in terms of features but the picture is not rosy as far as the price is concerned. Nokia 8 is the latest smartphone by the brand and it’s been one of the most talked about phone of 2018. Nokia is known for designing ‘no-nonsense phones’ and this time its Nokia 8 on trial! It will be interesting to see whether this latest flagship will taste success in converting the user’s interest into sale or will the brand still have to wait a little more to grab the number one position again!
Let’s shift focus to the functionality and built of Nokia new Android Phone: Nokia 8. Here through this article, we will find out how it worked out and what its best and worst Nokia 8 features are:
Battery Efficiency:
The smartphone comes with a non-removable 3090mAh battery that is highly efficient and keeps the device going for a fully packed working day. On a light to moderate usage, the battery can stay on for almost one and a half day. Nokia 8 battery gets thumbs up in this aspect.
Built Quality:
At the first glance, you will notice the phone’s slim and thin appearance. There is no other striking feature in the design of this flagship handset. You might also find it quite similar to Nokia 5. The phone has polished aluminum uni-body that makes it highly durable plus the mirror finish at the back panel definitely adds value to the looks. The phone also has IP 54 certification which means that it’s dust and splash-proof. The built quality is good and it can endure minor falls and drops.
Processor and Software:
The smartphone works really well with the powerful and efficient Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 835 processor. Multi-tasking is a cakewalk with this phone at your hand. The phone supports the latest Oreo OS version and has a user-friendly UI. You will not notice overheating at any point even after playing a few rounds of your favorite game or watching your favorite movie. With basic gesture control features, you can mute down a call by turning it upside down.
Camera Performance:
Switching to the camera performance the results are great, but in low light, you will have to struggle to take perfect shots. Many camera tricks, filters, and modes enable you to shoot pictures like a pro. There are two 13 MP rear cameras one is a color sensor and the other is a monochrome sensor of same the resolution. Color reproduction is accurate and impressive. The ‘Bothie’ feature enables you to access both the front and the rear 13MP cameras at the same time. The smartphone is worth considering for its good camera performance. Zeiss optics also enhances the picture quality. The back panel has stylish camera placement that stretches down in a long stripe at the top mid of the phone.
Display Quality:
Nokia 8 encompasses a 5.3-inch QHD IPS LCD 2K polarized display, which is protected by Corning® Gorilla® Glass 5. The display is not an edge to edge, so if you are expecting a bezel-less display at this high price then Nokia 8 is a disappointment. Color reproduction is great, the colors are true to life, bright and the graphics are crisp and clean. Sunlight legibility is also good. There are capacitive buttons that let you navigate on screen.

The Verdict:
Nokia 8 belongs to the flagship clan and is a delight as far as its functionality is concerned. Like other Nokia phones, Nokia 8 is a no-nonsense smartphone but the phone will not amaze you as far as features are concerned at the price it comes. “Bothie” is a USP as per the brand but the feature has already been available to users in the form of some great “Bothie” apps. For this high price, the phone is not a great deal but you can buy the refurbished Nokia 8 at a great discount only from Yaantra.com.
