Samsung Galaxy F62 – The Battery king
Samsung’s M series was marked by excellent battery life and a powerful processor. The F series carries on the same saga with the edition of the Samsung Galaxy F62 smartphone. The Galaxy F62 is a new mid-range smartphone and only the second model in the recently launched F series. Samsung has played well in introducing premium SoCs (System On a Chip) in mid-range smartphones.
The excellent battery life is the highlight of the Galaxy F62, stretching over two days giving an edge over the competition to the mid-range smartphones available in the market. Besides a powerful processor, the galaxy F62 gives you an AMOLED display, a good set of cameras, and a massive 7000 mAh battery, all for a starting price of Rs. 23,999. The Samsung Galaxy F62 is available in Laser Green, Laser Blue, and Laser Grey colors.
- Display – 6.7 inches
- Processor – Octa-core 7nm Exynos 9825
- RAM – 6 GB
- Storage – 128 GB
- Battery capacity – 7000mAh
- Front camera – 32 MP
- Rear camera – 64 MP + 12 MP + 5 MP + 5 MP
- OS – Android v11
The back design of Galaxy F62 is unique in outlook. It’s a thick phone at 9.5mm, and it’s heavier as compared to other Samsung smartphones. Galaxy F62 offers a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a headphone jack beside the USB Type-C port at the bottom.
The highlight of the Samsung Galaxy F62 is the Exynos 9825 SoC. The phone has dual-band Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5, NFC for Samsung Pay, and the standard suite of sensors and geo-positioning systems for navigation. The Galaxy F62 is a 4G-only phone. The Samsung Galaxy F62 incorporates the latest Android skin called One UI (3.1), which is based on Android 11.
Another USP of the Samsung Galaxy F62 is its massive 7000mAh battery. There is no other smartphone in the mid-range segment with a battery size like this. The phone comes with a USB Type-C 25W fast charger in the box. Even with 25W charging, it takes around two hours to fully charge this phone, which isn’t particularly quick but even an incomplete charge will go a long way.
The galaxy F62 is just a fine choice for gamers. Games run fine and look great on the device. Face recognition works well but it’s not as quick as using the fingerprint sensor. The single speaker of the smartphone is decently loud and the device is great for media consumption.
Talking about the galaxy F62 cameras, at the back the smartphone is infused with a 64-megapixel primary camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and two 5-megapixel cameras for depth sensing and macro shots respectively. There is a 32-megapixel selfie camera in the front. There are no 60fps video recording options at any of the resolutions, for the front or rear cameras.
The main and ultra-wide cameras capture good quality images during the day. However, there is a minor barrel distortion with the Ultra-wide camera. Details in the low light camera are not that impressive, but the night mode of the Galaxy F62 tries to compensate a bit. The front camera clicks good quality selfies in natural light. In a nutshell, all the cameras on the Galaxy F62 do above-average jobs in the daylight. Low light performance is a little week, especially in terms of shooting videos.
